Collaborative Ventures


ICUF's Collaborative Ventures are cooperative associations and authorities established by institutional members to cut their costs and improve efficiency. ICUF continues to be interested in exploring and developing other such ventures to benefit their members.


FICURMA
This private nonprofit educational risk pool offers its members property, casualty, workers' compensation, fleet auto, educator's legal and officers & directors insurance increased capacity and reduced rates. Membership is open to ICUF and FCIS schools and the corporation is governed by its members. Its insured property approaches $1,000,000,000, it has over 8,000 employees in its worker's comp pool along with over 750 vehicles. Contact: Ben Donatelli, ben.donatelli@ficurma.org.


HEFFA
The Higher Educational Facilities Funding Authority was established in law and allows a board, which was appointed by the Governor, to validate tax-free bonds for construction, equipment and anticipatory notes at the 27 independent colleges and universities. ICUBA
Fifteen ICUF schools have developed a Voluntary Employee Benefits Association, modeled after a Tennessee health insurance cooperative. Besides health insurance, dental, vision, short & long-term disability; and life insurance benefit options are under consideration.
